Every now and then, I get what I think is a great idea for a story, but I’m invariably driving, or eating, or running, or changing a diaper, or almost asleep, and by the time I get to my computer, it’s floated away.
But not this last time. It came to me at the right moment and I was able to capture roughly 850 words about the main premise.
I now have 1,573 words down for the story arc and outline and I’m still going. I even have a character and locations list started. I think the outline will probably land at about 2,500 – 3,000 words. In fact, the whole idea is kinda scaring me, because it’s and open-ended story with many plot threads to follow and explore.
I pitched it to my wife the other day, and she liked it, which is high praise coming from someone that doesn’t like science fiction.
Now, onward!

Yay! Keep going!
Thanks! As a short story writer, this is a terra incognita!
